Our Hosts

Greg Martin
Greg Martin graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, in December 2001. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, where he served as a Field Artillery Officer. After completing US Army Ranger School, he served 3 years with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After 3 years of active duty, Greg wanted to better understand how entrepreneurs grow their business and serve their community, so he transitioned out of the military.
In May 2006, Greg joined BB&T Bank as a Regional Financial Analyst in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The Regional Financial Analyst role allowed for a smooth transition from the military to civilian workforce; and allowed Greg to learn banking at a high level. In January 2008, Greg enrolled in North Carolina State’s Masters of Business program; however, in November 2008, he was recalled back to active duty for a 10 month deployment. During this deployment, Greg was assigned to the Pennsylvania National Guard and deployed back to Iraq where he oversaw over $120 million in reconstruction, security, and economic development contracts.
Upon returning, Greg got out of the back office of the bank and started to directly serve entrepreneurs as a Relationship Manager; which is the role that Greg was born to fill. The entrepreneurs that value him the most are: established, fast growing, that are determined to achieve sustainable growth, and crave supporters around them to help advise and push them towards success.
In December 2011, Greg completed Masters in Business Administration (Finance focus) from North Carolina State University.
In May 2015, BB&T returned Greg to Aggieland, where he continues to support entrepreneurs across many different industries.
After supporting entrepreneurs for over 10 years, Greg observed that entrepreneurs demanded (and deserved) a different type of banking partner. So he imitated the people he served and began to pivot and disrupt himself. In an effort to be more like an entrepreneur and less like a banker, Greg has a focused on 3 key areas.
Greg became a Certified Profit First Banker (1 of only 2 in the country); which focuses on eradicating entrepreneurial poverty. This revolutionary system is being used by over 100,000 companies with revenues ranging from $0 (start-up) to high 8-figures.
He has also created www.theentrepreneursbanker.com where he shares articles and insight that allows entrepreneurs to:
- Increase their profitability
- Strengthen their leadership skills
- Define their strategic vision
- Transform their banking relationship
Finally, he has co-created Aggie Growth Hacks, a podcast dedicated to connecting Aggie Entrepreneurs while learning the secrets to their success.
Greg is married to Sarah Francis Martin and they have a 11-year old son, Grayson. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, listening to podcasts, writing and serving the community through his church. He is also the chairman of Brazos Valley Cares, a non-profit that is dedicated to serving local military veterans and their families.
